Mobility21 UTC research and CMU Robotics Institute Professor Steve Smith has been named President Elect for the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines.  He will complete his term as President Elect and begin duties as President in 2024.
