Pi-Lit and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, have reached an agreement that will allow Pi-Lit’s patented LED flares to be used by commercial vehicle operators in place of traditional, older products such as reflective triangles, fuse flares, or liquid flares, when stopped on highways or shoulders.

(CMU Alum) Daniel Selevan, Chief Operating Officer for Pi-Lit, upon learning of the successful petition commented, “The Pi-Lit team is pleased to learn of the exemption that permits commercial operators to equip their fleet with the most modern technology.”  Jim Selevan (CMU Alum) is CEO of Pi-Lit, which is a Deployment Partner of Traffic21.
