Unity and HERE Technologies are developing embedded automotive human-machine interfaces (HMIs) with reactive transport simulation software for groundwater (RT3D) rendering capabilities.
The collaboration will create a proof-of-concept application of an embedded in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system that will feature HERE 3D city data on a futuristic wide-screen navigation system using 3D maps. This will include next-generation location technology for future autonomous driving, simulations, city planning and digital twins.
The demonstration will start with maps from San Francisco and show what the addition of a 3D HMI workflow design can do for future vehicles. HERE has mapped in 3D more than 70 cities in the U.S., Europe and Asia with plans to eventually offer global 3D map coverage, so the system could be expanded to more cities as the system gets up and running.
