Uber to Offer ‘Hourly’ Service to Limit Driver, Passenger Exposure

Ride-hailing service Uber said it would introduce a new service dubbed “Hourly” through which passengers could book an Uber car and driver on an hourly basis.

In announcing the service, Uber said it wants to offer passengers greater convenience and to provide additional earnings opportunities for drivers.

The move follows extensive testing in Australia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, and the fee will be $50 for each hour or portion thereof. The service will be available starting June 2, 2020, in 12 cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Seattle, Tacoma, and Washington, D.C.
