Twenty-five Toyota and Lexus vehicles will boast automatic braking safety systems as a standard feature by the end of next year, five years earlier than the deadline the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration suggested, Toyota said. “High-level driver assist technologies can do more than help protect people in the event of a crash… We are proud to help lead this industry in standardizing these systems and bring automated braking to our customers sooner rather than later,” said Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz.
