Vermont’s Agency of Transportation is receiving nearly $800,000 in federal funding to support the purchase of four electric transit vehicles for rural communities.

The funding from the Federal Transit Administration was announced by state officials on Thursday. It will cover 80% of the purchase of four “cutaway” vehicles, which are similar to large vans.
