Pittsburgh First Winner of Automated Driving Award from TomTom Traffic Index

News from the TomTom Traffic Index that Pittsburgh was the first winner of its Automated Driving Award. TomTom ranks cities for the most traffic congestion, and Pittsburgh was No. 30 in the U.S. with a congestion level of 19 percent, equal to an extra travel time of 21 minutes per day during peak hours.  Pittsburgh has made great advances with policies embracing both the low- and high-tech transport modes. A 400% increase in cycling in the city is paired with a future-forward approach to on-road testing of highly automated and self-driving vehicles – especially through collaboration between the Government and the private sector.
