National Transportation Safety Board Calls for Mandated Collision Avoidance Technology

The National Transportation Safety Board has added “Collision Avoidance” to its Most Wanted List. This list is used to gain exposure, attention and support for what they believe are the most critical changes that need to be made in order to increase transportation safety and save lives. They further state that this technology be mandated to insure that all automakers comply in building these collision avoidance elements into their new vehicles. This includes lane departure warning, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking and electronic stability control.
