Carnegie Mellon University CEE/EPP PhD graduate Yeganeh Mashayekh was awarded Best Student Paper at ASCE’s T&DI Green Streets, Highways and Development Conference in Austin, TX earlier this month. The paper, “Benefits of Proactive Monitoring of Traffic Signal Timing Performance Measures – Case Study of a Rapidly Developing Network,” outlines her research in studying the environmental and cost savings associated with monitoring traffic signals within a high traffic area.
