Many New Cars Have Some Autonomous Tech – Like It or Not

That technology has come in the form of active safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection and automatic parking, which can help a vehicle avoid a collision. The survey found that such features, which were available on fewer than a quarter of new vehicles in 2012, are now available on more than 60% of new models.

“While most may be skeptical when asked if they want a car that drives itself, many consumers might not know that if they’ve bought a car recently, they could already be experiencing the early stages of automotive autonomy,” according to the survey.
