Lyft and GM partner on Express Drive, a rental service that paves the way for autonomous cars

Officials at General Motors and Lyft are partnering on a program called Express Drive that will provide GM vehicles for Lyft’s ride-sharing drivers at little or no cost to them, depending on how many rides they offer. The pilot program will roll out in Chicago, with plans to expand to other cities. “[The program] builds infrastructure that is a very critical and important step for our goal of developing an integrated network of autonomous vehicles,” GM’s Julia Steyn said.
