KFC rolls out 5G-enabled self-driving food trucks in China to promote social distancing , pictures go viral

In China, fast-food giant KFC has stepped up its plans for promoting social distancing. They recently deployed several autonomous 5G-enabled self-driving food trucks to cater to the fried chicken needs of customers.

The trucks aim to minimise human contact and promote social distancing.

The specialised food trucks, that have been developed in Shanghai by Neolix, allows users to use a simple touchscreen to choose their food. Once the selection is done, they can make the payment using their phones.

When the payment is successful, the food compartment door unlocks for the customers to grab their food package. However, many on social media have expressed concerns over the freshness of chicken stored inside the trucks.
