Industry ‘crying for high-level’ automotive workers

With the latest in technology permeating today’s cars and trucks, highly-skilled technicians are needed to keep the wheels turning. There are video gaming systems and cooling seats (as opposed to heated seats) and an increasing number of power-operated systems. There are hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and fleet of makes and models on the road. The price of some new SUVs and trucks is more than many senior citizens paid for their homes. “We get job postings every day,” said Tim Moy, an automotive instructor at Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) in Fond du Lac. “The jobs are there. The industry is crying for high level students.”
