Gogoro partners with Foxconn to mass-produce swappable batteries and e-scooters

On 23 June, Taiwan’s e-motor scooter pioneer Gogoro Inc. and electronics giant Hon Hai Technology Co, Ltd., better known as Foxconn, signed a memorandum of understanding for a strategic technology and manufacturing partnership. Together, they aim to accelerate global expansion of Gogoro’s innovative ‘Swap&Go’ urban mobility concept.

Gogoro offers much more than ‘just e-motor scooters’. Founded in Taiwan, the company established itself as a global innovator in compact electric propulsion vehicles, smart battery design, battery swapping platform. Gogoro develops advanced cloud services utilizing artificial intelligence to manage battery availability and safety.

The heart of Gogoro’s system is a hyper-efficient battery swapping platform called Gogoro-Network. With nearly 400,000 riders and 2,100 battery swapping stations, the Gogoro Network is hosting 270,000 daily battery swaps worldwide with nearly 200 million battery swaps to date, the company claims.
