GM cars will get Amazon Alexa capability in second half of 2020

Amazon Alexa is now available in General Motors vehicles, offering a host of hands-free features made to ease driving.

Alexa offers more than Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, thanks to its voice recognition capability for a multitude of different apps, most notably audio streaming services such as SiriusXM, Spotify, Pandora, and Amazon Music.

Obviously, you can also use Alexa to place an online order for products on Amazon, but you can also track an existing order and add items to a shopping list. As for vehicle functions, you can use voice activation to make phone calls, check the weather, and locate nearby gas stations. Alexa seamlessly connects with GM’s OnStar system to offer turn-by-turn navigation.
