FHWA Awards $5.6 Million in Grants to Aid Spread of Real-Time Travel Info Systems

?The Federal Highway Administration awarded $2.57 million in “integrated corridor management” grants across 10 states to expand use of real-time travel information in 13 highly congested urban areas, and used the announcement to promote the value of connected transportation data systems.
The grants are designed to help the recipients tap various technologies to combine real-time information from highway, rail and transit operations, the Department of Transportation said. The awards are spread among Arizona, California, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia.
