Boulder researcher designs ‘smart plow’ technology for pilot program

Do you ever wonder why it seems snowplows are never where you’re convinced they’re most needed at the time they’re needed most?
Snowplow operators would likely tell you they can’t be everywhere at once — unlike the weather itself. But they are getting some high-tech help this winter in three states on a test basis through a new digital intelligence system built at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder.
