9 Philly transportation projects receive $5.3M in funding

A whole bunch of transportation-related projects in Pennsylvania were just awarded $59 million, including nine planned for Philly.
The funding comes from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), which will financially support multi-modal transit projects that aim to improve infrastructure, transportation, and the economy. A total of 112 projects in 36 counties received funding, and the nine-Philly based projects were awarded $5.3 million total.
“These funds will allow Philadelphia to address key transportation needs like pedestrian and bike safety and enhanced transit amenities,” said Michael Carroll, Deputy Managing Director for the Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems in a statement.
