On January 12, 2013, U.S. transportation leaders met in Washington, D.C. for the 22nd Annual Council of University Transportation Centers banquet to award university students who are conducting cutting-edge research. At this year’s event, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) doctoral student Yeganeh Mashayekh was awarded an Outstanding Student of the Year Award by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). The award was presented by Greg Winfree, Research and Innovative Technology Administration deputy administrator.
